Here’s a little more about our new friend, Alli. Let’s get to know her better!

Who is Alli Patterson?

Alli Patterson is a teacher, author, wife and mom of four out of Cincinnati, Ohio. She currently serves as a Teaching Pastor at Crossroads Church on the national teaching team. Alli is the leader of Woman Camp and founder of the Ignite Conference out of her passion for equipping women in the Kingdom of God.

As a lifetime learner and lover of scripture with a seminary degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, Alli loves to create ways for others to know and love Jesus through his Word. She has created a fresh approach to Bible study in the release of ‘Spirit-Led Bible Study,’ coming February 2026. She has written two books, How to Stay Standing and Blueprint for Belonging – both providing practical help translating Biblical principles into real life. Alli speaks at events and conferences and enjoys podcasting. She is a runner and die-hard Buckeye football fan who loves Mexican food almost as much as her bratty calico cat.

In her new Bible Study, Spirit-Led Bible Study, Alli introduces readers to a new approach to Bible reading, one led by the Holy Spirit. Spirit-Led Bible Study will help you bring your time in the Bible back to life by teaching six foundational practices that you can apply to any passage of Scripture.

Ready to get to know Alli Patterson a little better? We asked her a few fun and thoughtful questions about herself, her journey to writing Spirit Led Bible Study, and her hopes for readers as they go through this study.

How would your friends describe you in a few words?

I think they’d say I am wise, faithful, super-intentional and trust-worthy…but also unexpectedly fun! I think I come across as a little intense but upon closer inspection am more flexible and funny than I might first appear.

What’s one small thing that’s helping you stay rooted in Scripture right now

My 365 Day Reading Plan! I’m using my natural discipline and my love of lists to keep me in scripture every single day!

Was there a particular person, pastor, or teacher who shaped how you approach Scripture? How did they impact you?

Way back when I first started truly studying scripture it was probably Beth Moore. I didn’t know many of the “famous Christians” other people seemed to know because I wasn’t steeped in church-culture growing up. I have a funny story about asking someone who this Beth Moore person was (I thought she was on our staff and I just didn’t know her!). When I read her books and studies it was obvious to me that she not only deeply loved scripture but believed every bit of it. She studied them with an intensity that resonated with mine.

What first stirred your heart to create Spirit-Led Bible Study? Was there a moment or season that planted the seed?g of God?

YES. I am super passionate about people reading the Bible and I have wanted to create something that combines my deep trust in the presence and personal leadership of the Holy Spirit AND the good and necessary skills we need to understand scripture with depth and accuracy. This study is my attempt to pass those both on to others. I hope others will read with passion, focus and faith. You could say in many ways that this reflects my own approach to scripture.

Can you share an “a-ha” moment you had while researching or writing Spirit-Led Bible Study?

Absolutely! I was selecting a passage to include in the study (from Acts 12 where the angel leads Peter out of prison) and I knew it would work well for what I was writing in the study but as I was engaged in the passage, the Spirit deeply met me in it and spoke to me personally about a way he needed me to engage with my daughter as we walk towards her freedom in something. It was so beautiful and personal. And it was combined with simply working on the mechanics of the study… I just thought it was a perfect representation of what I hope happens for others as they engage the scriptures.

When you need a pick-me-up, what’s your favorite go-to indulgence?

A glass of wine and the Christmas episode of Downton Abbey at the end of season 2 when Mary and Matthew finally get engaged.

What’s a fun fact or a hidden talent most people don’t know about you?

I’ve run the Boston and New York Marathons (and several others). I’m still a runner but these were amazing life experiences! (And I never want to run 26.2 miles again).

If participants walk away from Spirit-Led Bible Study with one truth ringing in their hearts, what do you hope it is?

That the Word of God is alive and active!! And that you need to feed directly on scripture to find the life you are looking for.
